I think that would be a good car for his first car. For one thing if you plan on puttng the motor into another 240 then that would be a great opportunity for him to learn about the car, about the motor, and how to work on it. If your worried about it being too much power for him, put a boost controler in it and turn the boost down, lock it out, and he wont be able to mess with it until you decide he can. Im kinda talken out my arse here....but to me this all sounds logical.
